What the expert says

The true killer app for large multi-site businesses, though, is SD-WAN over high-quality, bonded links.

SD-WAN virtualises the WAN, continually and automatically reconfiguring WAN edge routers to suit changing traffic patterns, intelligently managing critical data over diverse, resilient, bonded links.

By running SD-WAN over Bonded ADSL and/or Bonded FTTC connections, the enterprise WAN can be made more resilient, faster, more reliable, more flexible and much easier to deploy, as well as delivering significant, on-going savings.

No one can do this like Evolving Networks, with our unique pedigree in bonded connectivity.

Why the Different Types of SD-WAN Matter

Why the Different Types of SD-WAN Matter

While the basic principle of SD-WAN – automatic, real-time routing of traffic across the most appropriate link – remains constant across all implementations, Evolving Networks’ implementation is unique in its intelligent traffic management.

Many providers encourage customers to build their SD-WANs on expensive Ethernet circuits, in conjunction with ADSL, and 3G and 4G connections. The strategy is to direct mission-critical and latency-sensitive traffic such as VoIP over the Ethernet links, and less critical data over the ADSL, with the 3G and 4G connections in place for fail-over purposes.

Evolving Networks implements SD-WAN over Bonded ADSL and Bonded FTTC, complete with our unique added-value WAN optimisation bundle – QoS, Bandwidth Amplification and Monitoring. This architecture offers all the benefits of the Ethernet approach and more, with much more significant immediate and on-going cost savings.

How Does SD-WAN Over Bonded ADSL and Bonded FTTC Work?

Traditionally, an enterprise WAN routes traffic over an MPLS network.

In an SD-WAN from Evolving Networks, Bonded ADSL and FTTC connections are used. SD-WAN appliances at the WAN edge intelligently manage the traffic, routing traffic over the most appropriate links at any given time, enhancing resilience and bandwidth.
